Like Machines released their new single “Take It Away” on July 24, and it provides just the energy we need to keep up a fighting attitude and forge ahead, ready for whatever the future brings. The single is off to a great start on the streaming services, since it landed on Spotify’s Rock Hard and Southern Comfort playlists and Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock playlist.

“Even though the song was written before the pandemic, I feel the message of the song relates to today,” says singer Andrew Evans. “In ‘Take it Away,’ we sing about how there will be times you have to separate yourself from bad relationships and be okay with it. No matter how tough it is, you have to do what you feel needs to be done. Whether it’s relationships or a public health crisis, that message of doing the right thing even when it’s hard rings true.”

“Take It Away” is the first new song from the band with acclaimed rock producer Bob Marlette. “Over the past few months that we’ve been working together, I’ve really seen the band grow their sound,” says Marlette. Having worked with Shinedown, Rob Zombie, Seether, and other bands, the working relationship of Marlette with the band members of Like Machines has helped them explore new avenues with their music and bring in new layers of melody and meaning.

Fans of Like Machines will find the same hard-hitting rock they love from the band in “Take it Away,” a song that’s filled with strong drum lines and creative guitar riffs. But at the same time, the new single stretches the band’s sound to another level.
